My partner and I are pushing 40 and we definitely do not consider ourselves millennials. However, we like some of the aspects of hotel design and decor that have come about in the hotel industry because of demand from that age group. This felt like the type of property we WANTED to like but that would benefit from an infusion of experience from a younger hotelier. The first look seemed nice but the longer we stayed there were just more and more problems like the service, the bad (and expensive for the quality) wine selection, the uncomfortable pillows and freezing cold bathroom that we couldn't seem to adjust, the lack of privacy with our room that opened right onto a public walkway through the only natural light in the room (French doors) and the "continental breakfast" that was Sara Lee sugary cinnamon rolls and super sugary fake granola bars. Also the coffee was terrible. And it needs an update. The sort of historic log cabin theme could be nice. But not if the details are expressed in decor that looks like it was purchased from Bed, Bath & Beyond or Marshall's. It just felt so dated and worn down. And the shower was so tiny, I couldn't shave because there wasn't space to maneuver my body in a way that would allow that. And don't get me started on the WiFi. I had actually wanted to be offline since we were on vacation but when it came to trying to plan our days and look at things online to do so, forget about it.
Read MoreNicely located historic property - super friendly staff and very comfortable room - wait staff could benefit from a little formal training, but, overall a positive stay - would stay there again.
Read MoreThe Sierra Sky Ranch has a cozy, woodsy feel, and is conveniently located outside Yosemite Park.
Read MoreCadre paisible et calme. Personnel aimable et souriant.
Read MoreNo luggage racks for the small room, no chair even! 1 small bedside table, limited electrical outlets, no coffee maker or refrig or microwave. Very cramped/tiny space, no soundproofing, could hear conversations all the way down the hall and on the adjacent deck and rooms. Few if any amenities: "breakfast" was sugary Dollar Tree pastry and coffee. Was out of the tea choices we wanted, although there were a few tea choices, which is better than most "quality inn" level places. 90 minutes+ from Yosemite valley (we knew that) yet overpriced for location. Pillows were old and VERY lumpy. No vanity space. Drawers in the one huge piece of furniture in room were DIRTY so could not use. Too much money spent on remodeling the living room with big furniture and not enough spent on making the rooms more functional.
Read MoreWhat a fantastic place to stay when visiting Yosemite... Not too far from the park entrance and the hotel has that rustic, quite atmosphere that we enjoy.
Read Morecharming rustic, decor appropriate for the surrounding area
Read MoreWas not worth the price paid. Can hear everyone/everything in room. Walls paper thin. Best thing about the stay was the hot water when showered.
Read MoreSpotless in dusty town. Very nice place, fits in with scenery.
Read MoreThe hotel location is very good for access to the national park. However, it is very over priced for the amenities provided. The room had no coffee maker, no refrigerator, and the lighting was very poor. Bright LED bulbs would be a great help. Also, the breakfast food selection was poor. Everything was pre-packaged vending machine food. The WiFi is sketchy, email and texting was fine but it couldn’t stream movies on a Roku device as TV selection was very limited.
